A sprinkle of rain gave a layer of spontaneity and romance for this totally in love couple.
Josh + Megan | Clarks Summit Firehall | Hotel Anthracite
This day was an absolute adventure.
Josh & Megan’s wedding was the second of my 2022 wedding season, and the thing most photographers, couples and venues fear the most came to fruition: Rain. It’s something I talk about with most couples during their pre-wedding consultation, and something I like to plan for ahead of time, regardless, in case it happens.
The most important thing to understand when it comes to rain is: it happens. And as long as your focus is on enjoying the day with the one you love the most, we can figure this part out.
The wedding day started at Hotel Anthracite in Carbondale, PA. The bridal party was ready – their prep room was buzzing with excitement and anticipation. Megan couldn’t stop smiling the entire day and it was infectious.
I loved Megan’s style sprinkled throughout the entire day. I still think she had some of the coolest boots I’ve seen.
Our rain plan actually ended up working better than anyone could have imagined. We took advantage of a gazebo at a local park, and had the benefit of admiring the cherry blossoms newly in bloom. It made for some pretty incredible memories for all.
As usual, the couple portraits of the day was one of my most memorable times to document. Away from the hustle and bustle of the day, we chose a local train station as the backdrop of the rustic feel of the afternoon.
A stunning end to a gorgeous day.
